Inspired designer "accessorations" take a variety of forms!!!!!

The Christmas window "accessorations" at Beirut's
were extravagant, entertaining, & brilliant!!!!

Imagine every classic Bottega handbag shape ......
as a white candle!!!!

And, if that's not enough "fabulocity" ........
the candle wax was pressed
into the classic woven leather texture
of these fabulous Bottega bags!!!!!

I tried to beg, borrow, or steal them ........
they were the perfect gift for my chic Lebanese hostess!!!!
But, I was told "absolutely not"!!!!!

Oh well, I guess it's the thought that counts!!!

The strangest "street accessorations" are always in NYC .....
& this week's weirdest is this divine red stiletto,
emerging from the sidewalk in front of

Maybe it's a very chic Fifth Avenue bike rack ????
Nah, I don't think so!!!

What else could it be ....
Do you have any other ideas????

James Brett's Museum of Everything pop-up is extraordinary,
the "Store of Everything" is fantastic .......
but Selfridges "Windows of Everything" are the best!!!!!

Imagine devoting every window on Oxford Street,
a gigantic city block in London,
spanning the front of one of the world's greatest stores,
to "everything" that can't be sold!!!!

This is a phenomenal design installation,
and I applaud the Selfridges team for being sooooo brave!!!

This is a major tribute to the arts ....
but I can't help wondering,
who in NYC would ever be this brave?????

The Museum of Everything 4.0 is spectacular ....
but the "Shop of Everything" is incredible!!!

Imagine James Brett and Selfridges collaborating
to create this amazing "shopping mecca of everything" ....
thinking of soooo much fabulous "everythingness"!!!!

I bought tons of great "everything gifts" ....
to take back to NYC!!!!

Remember ...... Christmas is coming!!!!

James Brett's pop-up
Museum of Everything (blog 12/14/10)
is having it's latest divine incarnation at
Selfridges, London.

Brett's collection of self taught artists,
with developmental and physical disabilities,
is on display in a delightful warren of rooms
in the department store's lower level.

In addition to the the delicious exhibition,
great graphics are throughout the store,
a divine "shop of everything" is on the main floor,
& sublime "windows of everything" run across Oxford Street!!!!

You can't miss this "installation of everything"......
it's all the "accessoration quirkiness"
that makes London ..... London!!!

In London, Italian design giants Flos and Moroso
share a spectacular showroom!!!!

For the London Design Festival, they are co-hosting Galleria Illy,
a divine installation showcasing a program of .....
art, literature, science, design, food, and wine events!!!

The entire space is extraordinary,
from the outside ..... in!!!!

The window design, interior colors, pattern, and structure
are over-the-top eye candy!!!

The furniture is Moroso at it's best .....
and the lighting from Flos is spectacular, as usual!!!

The computer that lets you to design your own coffee label
and then prints it is technologically au courant!!!

The entire package is this "accessorator's" dream come true!!!

Selfridges, my favorite department store in London,
had the best, best, best windows!!!

"Carmen Miranda", a sculpture created by French artist
is made from stainless steel pans, lids, and cement!!!

It's an absolutely over-the-top
"accessoration" for this store window ....
but, it would be especially divine in my closet!!!

This window full of antique sewing machines .....
and the room divider created from vintage shoe forms ....
plus lots of vintage iron machinery .......
were found at All Saints Co.
a clothing company that originated in London.

It is located on West 13th Street, NYC
in the Meatpacking District .......
I didn't know what it was when I walked by .....
but I knew I had to go in!!!!

I love unique vintage "accessorations" .......
and this "industrial accessoration" is very chic!!!!

appeared last Friday on Little West 12 Street,
in the Meatpacking District!!!
And left left last night, as quickly as it came!!!!!

Giving Ralph Lauren a run for his money ...........
it was a wonderful idea & it's execution was terrific!!!!
A treasure trove of Nantucket "accessorations,"
it was very cool!!!!!

If you missed it in NYC ...
it's coming to Los Angeles June 10-12!!!!

I loved the Christian Louboutin Mount Street windows in London!!!!!
They were sent by my London Design Spy (blog 3/1/11)!!!!

So, you can imagine how thrilled I was to see similar windows,
at the Louboutin store on Horatio Street, NYC!!!!

THEN, I drove past the Marc Jacobs on Bleecker Street ......

I WAS SHOCKED!!!!!
THE MARC JACOBS DESIGN TEAM
HAD KNOCKED OFF THE LOUBOUTIN WINDOWS!!!

WOW ....... they should be sooooo embarrassed ....
I thought they were smarter than that!!!!

Another enchanting tidbit from my London Design Spy!!!

It's time to forget the winter doldrums .....
and think about the delights of spring shoes!!!

Christian Louboutin's Mount Street store's window display,
designed by UK Studio XAG,
spells out the brand's name in neon lettering!!!
The powder coated letters are color-corordinated ..........
matching the colors of the shoes & bags of the spring collection!!!

This window is fabulous, eye-catching & exciting .....
& a harbinger of what's to come!!!!

SOON, I HOPE!!!
