Yesterday, I had a Tribeca jaunt with the ultimate 
"seriously supreme accessorator" 

Starting with lunch at the delicious new restaurant ....
"a modern Jewish America bistro," 
with the best matzoh ball soup & hot dogs in town, 
from foodies Zach Kutsher, Alan Wilzig, Jeffrey Chodrow, 
& Richard Kirshenbaum!!!!

Next was a visit to the stunning & stylish installation 
at the historic New York Mercantile Exchange!!!!

This spectacular exhibition, a joint venture between 
international galleries Marlborough & Steinitz,
was conceived & curated 
by world renown architect, designer, & artist 
 
"Le Cabinet de Curiosités" is presented in a series of 
Second Empire rooms created by 18th century boiserie &
objects d'art shipped from Paris by Steinitz.

This unique installation of art, design, & antiquties
features sculptures & collages from 
Spanish artist Manolo Valdés,
hyperrealist trompe l'oeil paintings by 
Chilean painter Claudio Bravo,
and Despont's assemblage sculptures & paintings.

Reminiscent of Deyrolle's chic Paris taxidermy store &
Axel Vervoordt's Palazzo Fortuny exhibition 
during the Venice Biennale .....
this installation is extraordinary & must not be missed!!!! 
And it's been extended thru February!!!!

Maira is witty & wonderful .....
and definitely one of my favorite artists!!!
I have an enormous file of newspaper and magazine "rip-outs"

at my East Hampton store ......
I showed a delightful collection of her prints,  
borrowed from my friend and Maira's gallerist .......

Raising over $700,000.00 for NYC's at-risk youth 
at Good Shepherd Services benefit,
planned by the supreme "accessorator" Isaac Mizrahi!!!!!

Sitting on pink ballroom chairs, at tables dressed in pink cloths, "accessorated" with Preston Bailey's divinely decadent floral poodles, dinning on a  delicious dinner orchestrated by super-chef Mario Batali & dancing to great music under the glow of pink lights  ........ Board Member, Isaac Mizrahi "designed" the perfect 1st Annual Spring Party for Good Shepherd Services!!!!! 

Good Shepherd Services is a "social service and youth development agency serving at-risk New York City children and their families through a network of supports that promote a safe passage to self- sufficiency." Director Sister Paulette Lo Monaco and her staff do amazing work, achieving incredible results ....... as Isaac said, "supporting our young people is all of our responsibility!!!!"

Look what I found last month at Amen Wardy's eponymous store!!!
How fabulous is On Hundred 80 Degrees re-useable ......
All American Picnic set?????

The plates actually feel like real Italian pottery .......
and are printed with their own family of ants!!!!

Color really calls to me from everywhere ...... 
and these colorful cookies were screaming my name!!!!!

Made by Amy's Cookies for Dean & Deluca, NYC ......
they certainly stood out in a sea of neutrals!!!!
Oatmeal, butter, ginger, molasses, vanilla bean, etc....
So how could I miss 'em!!!!!

I had to taste one to make sure they tasted 
as good as they looked!!!

There are so many new shops & shopping areas in Beirut .......
It's hard to keep up with all of the great finds!!!
My favorite new area on this trip was one block long .......
Pharaon Street in Mar Mikhael!!!

PAPERCUP is a divine bookstore, magazine shop, coffee shop, 
& great place to meet friends!!!!
It has an international selection of great reading material,
a well-edited selection of unusual cards, notebooks, & ephemera ...
plus a selection of coffee, teas, & sweets that are yummie!!!

PINK HENNA is a shopping bazaar.
There's a bit of this & that for your home .....
antique, new, and gently used furniture, pillows, & accessories .....
Plus wonderful bags, scarves, hats, jewelry, & stuff for gifts,
 as well as things you'll never want to give away!!!

MARIA HALIOS DESIGN has created her own collection of furniture ...
interior & exterior, made from a variety of materials ....
blending Lebanese craftsmanship & details 
with contemporary design!!!!

DIANNE FERJANE's vintage inspired clothing collection .....
hanging in her eponymous shop is charming .......
the designs are unique and everything has a bit of a twist!!!

And this is just the beginning .....
the tip of the shopping mecca that's coming to Mar Mikhael!!!!

I have a divine friend Darius Monsef IV (Bubba to his pals)!!!
He has a fantastic company COLOURLOVERS....
a world-wide creative online community .......
sharing colors, palettes, & patterns!!!

We met last fall, traveling with E-I-C Newell Turner  .......
to House Beautiful's Design Institutes!!!!
We bonded over color, design, & wedding plans!!!

The wedding took place last month in Hawaii .......
& these fabulous wedding cake pictures arrived last week!!!
This gorgeous cake was designed, baked, iced, 
& assembled by Darius's mother!!!
It is 60 colorful layers & each is a different color!!!!

A PERFECT CAKE FOR COLOURLOVERS EVERYWHERE,
 & THE ACCESSORATOR'S ULTIMATE FANTASY!!!

"Accessorator Supreme" Patrick Cox began an extraordinary career in the designer shoe business in the mid-1980's. His eponymous shoe collection became an immediate must-have for fashionista's world-wide!!! But, like all great "accessortators," he was ready for a new challenge after 20+ years ..... hence London's newest bakery, Cox Cookies & Cake, which opened last month to a delicious welcome!!!!! 

The design of the Soho store is trendy & super hip ..... shiny black is the color-story, both interior and exterior. The staff, dressed in tee shirts, jeans, and studded aprons (again all black!!!),  look like they just ambled down a runway!!! In addition to neon signage, a Tracey Emin signature neon word piece is on the wall, while the windows house neon cubes by the artist that act a cup cake stands. The over all design is "sex-shop chic," a new twist for a bakery!!!!

On to the cupcakes ....... created by "Cakeboy" Eric Lanlard, 
a divine master French patissier ........ 
they are stunningly sexy to look at and taste fantastic!!!

London's newest bakery is YUMMIE on all counts ........
including the tee shirts, EAT ME & BITE ME!!!!

Mary's Marvelous On the Move ...... to the Beach!!!!!

Juliana Nash has taken Amagansett's beloved Mary's Marvelous on a "joy" ride,  
just down the street to Indian Wells Beach!!!

Opened daily from 6:30AM to 11:30 (except Tuesdays), Juliana's new truck is stocked with Mary Schoenlein's fabulous breakfast treats ...... scones, muffins, bagels frittata's, spinach pies, & mini-sandwiches ..... plus a variety of hot & cold coffee & tea specialities, and more!!!

"Pulled-up" less than a month, Mary's Mobile is a huge success!!! 

This bright & shiny red truck certainly makes the ever-dreaded 7:30 AM dog walk a treat ....... 
a mini raspberry corn muffin & a grandé cappuccino ....
YUMMMY!!!!!
