Raising over $700,000.00 for NYC's at-risk youth
at Good Shepherd Services benefit,
planned by the supreme "accessorator" Isaac Mizrahi!!!!!

Sitting on pink ballroom chairs, at tables dressed in pink cloths, "accessorated" with Preston Bailey's divinely decadent floral poodles, dinning on a  delicious dinner orchestrated by super-chef Mario Batali & dancing to great music under the glow of pink lights  ........ Board Member, Isaac Mizrahi "designed" the perfect 1st Annual Spring Party for Good Shepherd Services!!!!!

Good Shepherd Services is a "social service and youth development agency serving at-risk New York City children and their families through a network of supports that promote a safe passage to self- sufficiency." Director Sister Paulette Lo Monaco and her staff do amazing work, achieving incredible results ....... as Isaac said, "supporting our young people is all of our responsibility!!!!"

The directions to make this chair are available at the designers website.
Included are the 4 phases of the process,
and a list of materials needed.
The goal is to make durable, affordable furniture ....
"which hopefully will be adapted/appropriated into many varied incarnations."

"The creative environment of this exhibition
and  it's content reflects the diversity, experimentation,
opinions, & talents found in the department."

ALESSANDRO MENDINI, "LA COLONNIA DI VENINI"

Renowned Italian glassmaker Venini
celebrated "ninety years of passion for glass"
with an exhibition at Milan's Palazzo Bagatti Valsecchi.

This brilliant collection of glass objects & lighting,
began with Fulvio Bianconi's 1940's design "Fazzoletto" .....
and included the most recent, unique sculpture
of broken & reassembled glass  "Fragments"
created by the Campana brothers.

Installing this extraordinary selection
of iconic & new works
amongst the museum's Renaissance collection of
paintings, sculpture, armour,
furniture, & accessories ....
was ingenious!!!!

World renown Japanese architect Shigeru Ban collaborated
with Hermés, to create the fantastic  .....
"La Maison Hermés"!!!!

The "house" was designed to exhibit the new Hermés
furniture, fabric, & wallpaper collections.

The architect started with a wood frame that supports
paper tubes, that are used to create walls.
Paper was then woven through the tubing, enclosing
the walls and creating "rooms."
There are no nails, instead pegs are used
to assemble the structure.

The "maison" can be taken down .....
and reconstructed, anywhere!!!

But, I can't imagine the installation looking more fabulous
than it did, in this centuries old palazzo .....
in Milan!!!

These objects are "designed as if the oil-based era,
in which we are living, never took place."
The designers are "investigating the pre-bakelite period,
discovering unexpected textures, feelings,
and the technical possibilities offered by natural polymers
extracted from plants or animal-derivatives."

 it's designed by Patricia Urquiola!!!
Okay, so I wrote about those divine glass pieces two days ago
& they were her's too ...
Well, she's brilliant & the pieces were amazing!!!!

These rattan chairs are spectacular too ....
great shape, stunning color story, & a material I love ..... rattan!!!

Well, guess what .... she is one of my favorite designer's!!!
And I know she's going to appear here again!!!!
Without a doubt, because she's an "accessorator" supreme!!!

The Marni design team has this created this divine "green parlour"
in the courtyard of their store on the Via Spiga!!!!

By creating this divine installation,
Marni owner Consuelo Castiglioni hopes to
"encourage the return of plants to our urban centers."

Wrapping furniture with black plastic garbage bags looks stunning
and is eco friendly, while still being chic!!!
And the black & white polka patterns create a spectacular visual,
especially with nature's green and Marni's white!!!!

In addition to the flora & fauna in the courtyard,
Sara Rossi's film "Laterna Magica" is projected on the walls!!!

There are no words to describe how fabulous this installation is!!!!
ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!!!!

The exhibition features glass installations and sculpture from more than 20 world renowned designers and artists ...... including Jaime Hayon, Vik Muniz, Jaume Plensa, Monica Bonvicini, Ted Noten, Tony Oursler, and Joep Van Lieshout.

These whimsical pieces from Urquiola are a total delight!!!!

much like the rest of her work!!!!
